NAVY IS THE NEW BLACK.

Dress: Topshop Boutique / Cuffs: Freedom Found / Earrings: Asos

I came to the conclusion recently that i needed to ditch the black and inject a bit of colour into my wardrobe, so naturally i went with Navy, it's colour right? Although maybe not the most popular choice of colour for Spring, Navy is a great transitional colour. You'll find it can be matched with most colours in your wardrobe. I decided to add a bit of gold and let the dress speak for itself.

DENIM DILEMMA.

Lets face it ladies, when it comes to denim it can be a struggle to find your perfect fit, that's when the denim jacket comes into play! This boutique beauty from Topshop is my new love, it even comes with matching mom jeans- (perfect if you want to brave the double denim look!) The lighter wash is great for spring and surprisingly works with my paler complexion. I decided to keep it simple and pair it with my trusty black fit and flare skirt and my new cold shoulder top, both from Topshop.

BACK TO BASICS.

Sometimes it's good to go back to basics. I recommend investing in a good blazer if you haven't already. It's an easy chuck on piece with major impact.A touch of tailoring gives any simple outfit a bit of interest. I usually steer away from white as it can be quite high maintenance, however i made an exception for this Lavish Alice beauty- (It's worth the extra dry cleaning bill). Pair with jeans and basic tee for an easy yet put together look.

BEIGE & GOLD

Cigarette trousers don't always have to be work and no play, although these camel ones have been a go to work item, i decided to team them with my fave pair of trainers for a smart, casual look. The white roll neck top makes a perfect pairing with a high waisted trouser, the open back is so flattering. Iv been obsessing over my Olivia Burton watch recently, turns out it's the perfect accessory for this ensemble. If you sport a paler skin tone like me, pop some colour on the lips to avoid looking washed out amongst a cooler toned palette.

INTO THE BLUE

I am loving a good pair of culottes at the moment, these pleather ones are a great transitional piece for Spring. If you want comfort, these are a must have in your wardrobe. I've never been a fan of florals but i made an exception for this top. Although at first glance it looks pretty bold, i love the simplicity of it. I thought i'd inject a little sports luxe with this circle clutch bag, it comes with a little adjustable strap making it the perfect day to night accessory. I'm really into blue at the moment and decided to team my powder blue heels and oversized coat to complete the look.

LADY IN RED

Recently i realised just how many pairs of boots i own. After discovering 15 pairs, (i need rehab) I decided to have a clear out and re consider what i was lacking.  I found these Sam Edelman burgundy beauties on Asos while browsing the sale and fell in love, they're a nice alternative to your basic black boot. For a day out in Brighton I decided to go for comfort and paired them with my 'go to' jeans, a basic white jumper and my burgundy leather jacket from Zara.

I WEAR THE TROUSERS.

Move over 'little black dress', it's all about this little black jumpsuit. Culottes have been seen just about everywhere, from the catwalk to the high street. if your a fan of comfort but don't want to compensate your style, this jumpsuit would be the perfect addition to your wardrobe.  I decided to go for a simple evening look with these white heels and a statement cuff. For a casual look, you could swap the heels for a pair of trainers and and add a jumper. I am a complete culotte convert and if you're looking for a new 'little black dress' i suggest giving this a go instead.
