BREEZY BURGUNDY

With the sun at full force today it seemed like the perfect opportunity to go for a brisk walk along the river. I opted for a black outfit as a base and to add some colour I decided to throw on my floral printed kimono from H&M. It's such an easy piece to wear and is a great way to add something to a plain outfit. With a chill in the air, I decided to add my burgundy boyfriend coat from Topshop to match a red lip. An effortless outfit for a breezy spring day.

THE PINK COAT

I have never really been a girl that loves pink, until i spotted this beauty in the Topshop sale. This gem is the perfect new addition to my coat collection. It's a great throw on for those chilly spring mornings. The pastel pink lends itself well to a simple monochrome outfit. My shirt was a purchase from Forever 21 last year and It seems to go with just about anything. It's my go-to item when i want to be comfy but put together. I added my gold collar chain from New Look to add a bit of metallic to the outfit and topped it off with my new cut out boots from Schuh. I'm a sucker for a good black boot and the fact these boasted a flat heel was the selling point for me. I own many a pair of high heeled black boots and i was in need of a great pair of flats, these may be my new faves. The chunky metal buckles and zips give an edge to an otherwise rather girly outfit.

SPRING LAYERS

Today was a perfect day for the jumper-dress combo. Although the sun has finally shown it's face, the winter air has not quite left us. I found this white, collared Topshop dress lurking in my wardrobe this morning and decided it would be perfect for a spot of layering. I paired it with my coral jumper from Forever 21. I have always been a big fan of layering, now that Spring is approaching, layering vibrant, fun colour with your summer dresses are a great go-to Spring look. As my dress boasted a collar, I decided to take advantage of this and pair it with a statement necklace. Today I opted for my trusty Zara chain, this piece never fails to complete an outfit.

Are you excited for Spring?

LOUIS VUITTON: GET THE LOOK

LOUIS VUITTON SPRING SUMMER 13

When Louis Vuitton showcased their Spring collection last year, the high street went mad for chequerboard print. I spotted this lightweight coat in Zara last summer, seeing as I tend to stick to monochrome basics, this was a great addition to my wardrobe. The lemon and white will work really well for this upcoming Spring. The outfit underneath doesn't have to be particularly thought through, the coat does all the talking! Keep it simple with a button down and your fave pair of jeans. I chose to pair the coat with a clash of print. This white polka dot shirt from Urban Outfitters is one of my wardrobe staples, I love the fact the it's a twist on the classic white shirt.

One pair of boots: Two outfits

My most recent purchase have been these black knee high quilted boots from Office. I have been lusting after a pair of boots like these for a while, but most never seemed to fit properly due to the fact I have really small knees and ankles! (Bane of my life!) Then i came across these bad boys, at £99, (with my trusty student discount) they are a little on the expensive side, however they go with just about anything! The gold hardware is a great touch to the simple leather boot. For a casual look pair them with a monochrome based outfit, and an over sized tartan scarf like this one from Zara. If you're in the mood for dressing up, add a statement coat and a hat. My coat is a recent purchase from H&M, a coat like this brings a lot of volume to a form fitting outfit like this one, giving it something extra. The hat is also from H&M, i personally love a good hat, it never fails to make an outfit look complete and keep you dry on a rainy day, what more could you want? Choose a bold lip to add a pop of colour and you're good to go.

Brighton brunch

After the rush of the first day of London Fashion Week, (Stay tuned for a blog post on my experience dressing backstage!), I decided to have a wind down and roam around Brighton. Those of you who have visited before will know about The Laines. With rows of quaint tea rooms and vintage shops, this is one of my favourite places to go and have a wander. I have recently purchased this skirt from Zara online and can't believe it's not real leather! The quality is amazing and for £25.99, an absolute bargain! As the weather has been... well...rather English, I have filtered this skirt into my winter wardrobe. Combined with my Asos Black tee, tights and Topshop boots, the skirt is a perfect pop of colour for a dull day. I decided to chuck on my chunky chain necklace to add a bit of edge to a feminine silhouette. If you're ever in the area, i suggest you visit Snoopers paradise. This place is amazing for one-off antique and vintage pieces. If all the excitement of Brighton leaves you a little peckish, i suggest the Blackbird tearooms, they do the most amazing scrambled egg!
